Kristian Tanev: "More And More People Have Started Gaming Online"

We can endlessly talk about how terrible and unfavorable the year 2020 turned out to be for many spheres of public life. However, as time goes on, we still have many challenges ahead. And we prefer to remain optimistic about many things, like the online gambling industry which is booming now. Curiously, social isolation not only did not cause the gambling business to fall - its online segment to be precise - but also contributed to the involvement of those who were never interested in gambling into the game. We often interview celebrities and opinion leaders to find out what they think about what is happening in the world in general and on the gambling market in particular. This time we were able to speak with Kristian Tanev, a YouTube star from Bulgaria.

Kristian Tanev, now Bulgarian YouTube comedy personality, was born on April 3, 1995 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He first tried his hand as a YouTube blogger in 2013 when he created his own channel called 'AideNaBulgarski' and uploaded his first video. Surprisingly, his humorous content has become very popular, so that the current number of Tanev channel subscribers exceeds 300 thousand people. He also managed to attract attention to his Facebook page, which boasts about 70 thousand subscribers.

Among tons of Kristian's hobbies, online gambling is very important one. He has had several successful winning streaks at SlotV where he prefers to spin the reels of slots to this day. We asked a few questions about the Kristian family, his hobbies, the YouTube channel, and also asked his opinion on what the future of the online gambling industry will be.

 What are your thoughts on 2020? Was this year successful for you personally and how did you spend it?

2020 was a year of great ups and downs for myself personally.

I got married in February 2020 and my wife got pregnant in June.

However, our honeymoon fell right during a period of increased social isolation, so as a result, my wife's hormones began to go off scale and she almost went crazy being constantly at home.

Nevertheless, I tried to remain optimistic about everything that happens around me, although it is not easy to show my courage in these difficult days. So, I hope that the situation will change in 2021.

Do you agree with the statement that the world is moving online? Has the epidemiological situation affected the work of your channel and how?

Well, yes. The world was forced to transfer nearly every aspect of our daily lives online. From interactions, to dining, to entertainment, to hanging out with friends.

As for my channel, the pandemic affected its work in a completely unexpected way. In fact, it influenced my channel in a positive way, because when people are forced to be at home, they start looking for something to do. As a result, the number of views of my videos started to grow. However, the problem arises, because being closed from within, I lost the source of inspiration from where I get my ideas.

Tell us about your YouTube channel. Do you consider this a job or just a hobby?

My YouTube channel is neither a job nor a hobby. However, it's a pretty good and lucrative way to stay in business at a time when I can't do my main job. Having done this over the years, I see it simply as an integral part of my daily life.

How do you see 2021 going to be? What are your plans for the future?

I just hope that it's better than 2020, haha. My plans for the future are to get my butt to work and have a stable income to plan things out for my newborn son :).

How do you think the gambling industry has changed during the pandemic?

Oh yes, it has changed quite a lot! More and more people have started gaming online, which is fine, I just wonder why they didn't start earlier! As for me, I enjoy playing from the comfort of my home more than hauling my butt to a land-based casino. To each their own, I guess. But due to necessity, the general public has started to accept my line of thinking as well.
