Forest-themed, with brilliant gems and unusual game mechanics, Shimmering Woods has emerged from production studio of Play`n Go to capture the attention of the gambling community. Although the provider decided to explore a softer and uncomplicated theme, there are several promising features that are revealed during the gameplay. Dynamic reels, fairly simple symbols, a variable number of paylines, a bonus round with free spins and a highly-volatile experience, all this can offer Shimmering Woods to players wanting to make at least a few spins.
Released on March 25, 2021, Shimmering Woods is a game compatible with most desktop and mobile devices. It is a 5-reel slot with 243-7,776 Ways to Win, that can provide pretty high winning odds. Here are some important details about the new game:
 |
|
| Game mechanics | 5x3 playing field featuring Splitting symbols; |
| Betting Range | from 0.20 to 100 euros per spin; |
| Maximum Payout | x25,000 of bet size |
| RTP | 96.2% |
| Volatility | High. |
With 243 paylines, Shimmering Woods lets us land combinations in any row. Additionally it uses a cascade system where new symbols appear wherever a winning combination is formed, giving a chance to win again in a single game round. Shimmering Woods introduces splitting symbols, dividing the standard cells and increasing the number of Ways to Win. By landing 3-6 Scatters, the player will be rewarded up to 19 FS with the option to extend the bonus round by up to +12 FS by landing another combination of Scatters.
While the FS bonus round looks promising, Shimmering Woods is capable of some big payouts during the base game. In addition, its cascading system, extra-multipliers and splitting symbols make this slot a terrific option for long gaming sessions. Although Shimmering Woods is inferior to some slots in terms of the number of winning opportunities available, the maximum payout of x25,000 of bet size is the highlight of this title.
